Misconceptions About Me

I’m a college student in her twenties. 

I’m actually a women approaching her mid-thirties. Thank you for thinking I’m still a child because I certainly don’t act like an adult. I think my youthful look helps me get away with running around Disney in ridiculous outfits still. 

I’m stuck up. 

I promise I don’t hate you, I’m just socially awkward and have social anxiety. 🙃 Social situations are very hard for me and naturally, I’m not a talkative person, so I tend to come off pretty standoffish. 

I have no emotions.

I’m not outwardly emotional, but it doesn’t mean I’m a robot. I feel just as deeply as anyone else does, but I tend to not show it very often because I am both reserved and anxiety-riddled. I’m very good at masking my inner turmoil when it comes to my social anxiety, as a coping mechanism, so that I can function properly on a daily basis. I care strongly for all my friends and family, but I do struggle with showing it. Just know that I am ALWAYS thinking of you, and I constantly beat myself up for not doing enough for you. 

I’m materialistic and high maintenance.

I’m actually pretty lazy. It doesn’t take me that much to look decent. I literally do the bare minimum these days. You’ll be amazed at what some fake hair and makeup can do. I barely tweeze my eyebrows. I hate going to the hair and nail salon. I only buy the necessities when it comes to makeup and hair care. It’s a hassle for me to even brush my hair. My skincare is inexpensive and simple nowadays. I don’t buy designer anything when it comes to clothes, handbags, shoes or jewelry. My wardrobe is mostly Blackmilk Clothing and Loungefly bags. I’m even sadistic, and will mix my colors with whites on laundry day.

I’m a serial killer.

Not all quiet and socially awkward people are trying to kill you. I hear this on my true crime podcasts all the time when they describe the disturbed person. I’m like damn, but I’m not a homicidal psychopath. To be fair, I’m most certainly more well-adjusted than these said people are LOL.

I love everything Disney. 

I’m not as fond of the Disney brand as everyone thinks I am. I understand the misconception because I go to the Disney parks like it’s my day job, but it’s very nostalgic for me and I’ve always loved amusement parks growing up. I rarely watch Disney movies. I hate Disney music. My future house decor wouldn’t be filled with everything Disney. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice I get way more excited for Star Wars than traditional Disney. I probably wouldn’t have bought a Pandora bracelet or a Spirit Jersey if it wasn’t for Star Wars. I mean, the first movie I watched on Disney+ was The Empire Strikes Back. I think Marvel and Star Wars keep me more connected to Disney nowadays. 

I like Angel from Lilo & Stitch.

Just because my favorite color is pink doesn’t mean I’ll like a pink female version of Stitch. Most of the time I’m on my pink vibes, but not when it comes to Stitch.
