Cherry blossoms symbolize renewal and new beginnings, while also serving as a reminder of life’s impermanence. Their brief, fleeting bloom encourages us to cherish each moment, as their beauty and presence are temporary.

Cherry Blossom Woes
Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m living in a blur. The weeks tumble into each other, and when the weekend finally arrives, instead of feeling like a breath of fresh air, it just feels… blank. I used to do a photoshoot or a little activity on several weekends throughout the month. But now, even the thought of planning a shoot or going out for the day feels exhausting.

Tulips at Waterdrinker!
After missing the tulip fields last year because I was physically dying, I returned to Long Island to see the blooms again! When we first walked in, I noticed they had planted daffodil fields! All this time, I’ve been chasing daffodils this season, and they were here at Waterdrinker. It was a plesant suprise! I’m still satisfied with my daffodil tour this year, and I don’t regret going to different boroughs to see these yellow beauties.

NYBG… Daffodil Hill & Cherry Blossoms!
I finally found time to go to the New York Botanical Garden. It's a far trip from Brooklyn but surprisingly easy and less costly than other places. A one-way City ticket only costs $5.
I’m so happy I made it back up there for spring blooms. My first visit was in autumn when they had a cute pumpkin display. I had only explored that small portion of the garden, but I made a full circle around the grounds this time.
Initially, I had thought I missed the daffodils entirely because I went to explore Daffodil Valley first, not realizing Daffodil Valley and Daffodil Hill were not the same thing when I looked at the map for a second time.

I'm Your Cherry Blossom, Baby
The flower blooms have me stressed this year.
They were extra unpredictable this year. Earlier this week, it seemed probable that kwanzan cherry trees, the vibrant pink double-petal flowers, would be in peak bloom by the weekend. It's wild how cherry trees go from 0 to 100% in a matter of days, causing panic in me, wondering how I will see all the blooms with work in the way. I decided seeing the pink blooms at Brooklyn Botanical Garden was my priority.
Oops… I Did It Again
Oops… I did it again. Gardens in NYC are closed on Mondays except for holidays. Why I'll never check the schedule before taking a day off is beyond me. I'll never learn my lesson.
Cemetery Walks
I went to Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn to see cherry blossoms in bloom. There weren't many of them, but there were still beautiful trees to take photos. This time, we explored more of the cemetery and found Sylvan Lake, further behind Valley Lake. There was a beautiful tree with cherry petals slowly falling one by one, creating a sea of pink and white on the ground below.

Cherry Blossoms at Brooklyn Botanical Garden!
Another early morning chasing after pink flowers. I nearly panicked when I had saw BBG had fully blossomed and rain was ready to sweep my pink cotton candy dreams away just in a days time. I must say that visiting the cherry blossoms at 8 am on a Sunday morning was the right idea. A peaceful and empty park is wonderful to take photos in. Luckily, BBG isn’t too far way from home, and so I was back in my bed before noon for a nap. 😉

Thank You
Thank you to the one who puts me back together when I'm (literally) falling apart.

Cherry Blossoms in Central Park!
Finally crossed off seeing cherry blossoms at the Bridle Path in Central Park! I’ll only wake up early on weekends for pink flowers. I’m glad I could see new flowers this year, despite not being able to see Daffodils and tulips during the season.

Cherry Blossoms at Green-Wood!
I finally made the walk over to the historical Green-Wood Cemetery. Danny is in a prime location in Brooklyn. We’re near Industry City, the NYC Marathon, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Barclays Center, and the cemetery. I’m usually wary about being in cemeteries because I don’t want to be disrespectful, but Greenwood is treated as an open museum and holds many events throughout the year. The cemetery is a National Historic Landmark, having been founded in 1838. It made me feel more comfortable about visiting to see the cherry blossoms during the beautiful Easter weekend.
