Can You Feel My Heart?

The first time I had ever heard a Bring Me The Horizon song was on a sleepy morning drive to the train station while I was on my way to work. Happy Song rang through the speakers of the car courtesy of Sirius XM’s Octane, which I had loathed listening to a majority of the time. It was one of those songs that spoke to me at the time, which was a good 6-7 years ago. Sometimes, all it really takes is a heavy song to release you from your inner spiraling. Fast Forward to 2020, Danny introduced me to their Post Human: Survival Horror EP, which includes a collaboration between BMTH and BABYMETAL that I never knew I needed in life. Ever since then, I’ve been invested in this new journey of BMTH fandom. So much so, that when a tour was announced, there wasn’t much hesitation in buying tickets for the show.

BMTH opened the show to an electric response with Can You Feel My Heart. When Ollie said bounce, the crowd rocked the Barclays Arena. At times, they were singing the lyrics louder than he was. BMTH followed this chaotic energy with the song that started it all for me… Happy Song. I was ecstatic to hear it live finally. Song by song the energy was always there. Oli Sykes sounded great live too. I was highly impressed with both his clean and screaming vocals. Since they only played material from Sempiternal to current day, I knew almost every single song on their set list as a newer fan. I absolutely loved that they decided to play Sleepwalking after a 5-year hiatus from their setlists simply because a fan asked them to on Twitter because it saved their life. It makes my heart melt when bands listen to their fanbase. This has to be one of my favorite concerts in recent years due to the sheer emotion from the crowd, the stunning visuals, and the magnetic energy of BMTH’s performance. I definitely can’t wait to see them live again!
