Goals 2023: Consistency

1. Be consistent in being active.
I was extremely bad at being active in 2022. I was finally tired of my shit later in the year, and I’ve been getting myself into a daily routine. It’s better late than never, right? I realize my sedentary lifestyle from a WFH office job isn’t good for my health, and the obsessive ‘body positivity’ movement isn’t conducive to my health as well. I’m tired of yo-yoing 5-10 lbs every few months. I don’t like how the extra weight feels on my tiny body, let alone how it makes me look. I can accept my body while also expecting that I need to keep it healthy.

I’ve been doing Blogilates consistently these last few weeks, and it’s been extremely motivating for me. I really like these Pilate workouts because they resemble the same workouts I did in my dance classes when I was a teen. I'm excited to see my body get stronger and more flexible as time goes on. It inspires me to get up to workout every day knowing I’ll see progress. I also love Casey’s attitude and personality, it makes the workout routines go faster for me. There are times when I watch her do a certain move and I think, “are you crazy?!” BUT I trust her and the process. LOL. I realize now, you really need to focus on a workout you like doing to be consistent. I always tried to make myself run in past years, but it turns out, I hate it. This is why I’ve never been consistent. I’d like to continue doing Pilates into the new year, while introducing HITT workouts and yoga to the mix. I’m excited to see my progress continue!

2. Visit Salem during the fall season.
I still haven’t seen this goddamn Baphomet statue. I’m hoping 2023 will be the year.

3. Explore a new city I haven’t been to yet.
If everything goes according to plan, I will be visiting my first international city since 2009 - Vancouver! Along with Vancouver, I’ll also be visiting several Alaskan towns. I’m also manifesting a trip to Boston and Salem into existence, but I don’t want to over fill my plate.

4. Learn how to take photos and edit properly.
I bought a white Sony ZV-E10 with three lenses in tow: a Sony 16-50mm, a Sigma 16mm, and a Sigma 56mm. Now, it’s time for me to learn how to use this camera, and practice editing my own photos.

5. Save, save, save!
This is self-explanatory, but I’m striving to get my savings account back to where it once was.

6. Declutter clothes I don’t wear anymore.
My goal is to start listing clothes I need to part with on selling apps and/or facebook groups along with donating and recycling clothes I don’t care to get money for.

7. Spend less time on social media.
I want to leave doom-strolling and spending a stupid amount of time looking at content in 2022. We’re so addicted to social media that its sickening.

8. Read one normal book and one comic book a month.
I haven’t read a book in a long time, and it makes me sad. I also need to finish my never-ending backlog of comic books I have yet to read.

9. Practice self-care.
Stretch everyday. Be persistent with skincare. Get a haircut finally. Book doctor’s appointments. Find a salon in Brooklyn for eyebrow maintenance. Get more ear piercings.

10. Be kinder to myself.
I’m still stuck with these insecurities whether it be my hair color, my photos, my eyebrows, or my makeup. At times, I don’t feel 100% like myself, and I think it’s because I spend too much time comparing my past self to my present self. I really need to adjust and accept the person that I am right now, and who I have yet to become in the future.

I feel like I accomplished nothing this year, but here’s to 2023! 😅 Honestly, I don’t care if I didn’t accomplish much because it wasn’t a bad year. I’m still healthy and alive. My loved ones are healthy and alive. My first nephew was born! I spent quality time with my friends and family. I went on so many adventures with Danny, and we’re still going strong. Also, I saw several of my favorite bands in concert. These are very important aspects that I won’t overlook.❤️

  1. Awh, yay! I love that you love Blogilates. Her videos are so great and I love her attitude and outlook on fitness.

I'm also trying to do 4 and 10 but I've been saying it for years. One day.
