Mercer Labs

I decided to visit Mercer Labs because we walk past the building every time we’re in Lower Manhattan to see a movie. Mercer Labs is a new art and technology museum, located across the street from the Oculus. The first exhibition being shown at the museum is Limitless by Roy Nachum, who is also a founder of the museum itself.

I’ve never been to an immersive art exhibit before, so I was a bit curious and wanted to see if Danny and I could get any creative photos from the experience. My favorite installation was the infinity room that showcased hundreds of thousands LED lights on strings that were spaced out like pixels to create three- dimensional videos. I will admit that while I enjoyed my visit the admission price was pretty steep. I’m not sure I’d pay that much per ticket for an immersive experience again. I know there is a thoughtful story carried through out the experience, but sometimes the meaning behind the art eludes me and my wallet.
