Tulips at Waterdrinker!

After missing the tulip fields last year because I was physically dying, I returned to Long Island to see the blooms again! When we first walked in, I noticed they had planted daffodil fields! All this time, I’ve been chasing daffodils this season, and they were here at Waterdrinker. It was a plesant suprise! I’m still satisfied with my daffodil tour this year, and I don’t regret going to different boroughs to see these yellow beauties.

It was a bit chilly but thankfully sunny, with no rain in sight. I was hoping for warmer weather, but sometimes, you must pick your battles with Mother Nature. The fields looked slightly different this year, but the tulips were still beautiful. I’m happy to see Waterdrinker expanding its fields year after year. However, I was disappointed to see the lack of yellow, white, and pink tulip rows.

I was looking at photos from 2021, and they had more yellow and white tulips than in previous years. This year, the field consisted mostly of reds and orange tulips, but I wanted more colors that better contrasted with my orange gingham dress. Ironically, the tulips in Battery Park mainly consisted of reds, too. It may be good that I went out of my way this year to see more yellow flowers!

This concludes April flower blooms for me. I tried to see it all, but alas, I couldn’t. I need a breather to relax and re-organize my life in May. I always feel burned out during seasons when I set out to do the most I can. It’s not in my nature to be a go-go person. I’m too introverted, so it’s exhausting for me. I need time to recharge, and with Danny on his wrestling world tour next month, I’ll be able to accomplish the things I need to do at home and hopefully save money from not going out as much.

I am happy with the photos Danny and I were able to capture this year. I’m looking forward to pushing myself out of the box and showcasing the other sides of me that I usually don’t show enough in the coming months. I want to showcase that I’m not always a pretty in pink Powerpuff girl; I have an alternative side to me, too!
